Bubba Sparxxx: Net Worth, Career, and Personal Life
What is Bubba Sparxxx’s Net Worth?
Bubba Sparxxx, the American rapper known for his unique blend of hip-hop and Southern country influences, has a net worth of $800,000. His career, spanning over two decades, has seen both commercial success and critical acclaim, solidifying his place in the music industry.
Early Life
Born Anderson Mathis on March 6, 1977, Bubba Sparxxx grew up in a rural area near LaGrange, Georgia. Raised with a background of French descent, his upbringing significantly shaped his musical style. His father worked as a school bus driver, and his mother was a grocery store cashier. Introduced to rap music at a young age through mix tapes from New York City, Sparxxx was initially drawn to groups like 2 Live Crew and later became a fan of West Coast rap from artists such as N.W.A and Too Short, as well as the Atlanta duo Outkast. During his high school years at Troup County High School, he honed his rapping skills while also playing football as a tight end and linebacker, earning All-Region honors in his senior year.
Career
After high school, Sparxxx moved to Athens, Georgia, in 1996, where he met Bobby Stamps, who became his business partner. Stamps noticed Sparxxx’s talent after a University of Georgia football game and introduced him to local producers and music industry figures, including Shannon Houchins. Over the next two years, Sparxxx worked with Houchins on his debut album. The album, “Dark Days, Bright Nights,” was released independently and gained traction in Georgia. This led to Sparxxx signing with Interscope Records, which re-released the album. The re-release debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 charts, a significant achievement early in his career.
Following this success, Sparxxx collaborated with renowned producers like Timbaland and Organized Noise. His second album, “Deliverance,” though critically acclaimed, did not achieve the same commercial success. Sparxxx then signed with Virgin Records, where he released “The Charm,” which featured the hit singles “Ms. New Booty” and “Heat it Up.”
“Ms. New Booty,” featuring the Ying Yang Twins and Mr. Collipark, proved to be a major hit, peaking at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. The song marked a shift in Sparxxx’s style toward mainstream hip-hop and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. He performed the song on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” in 2006. After gaining commercial success, Sparxxx established his own label, New South Entertainment, distributed by E1 Records. In 2007, he released the mixtape “Survive Till Ya Thrive” with DJ Burn One. He later signed to Backroad Records in 2012, a subsidiary of Average Joes Entertainment. Sparxxx recorded the song “Country Boy Coolin.”
In 2013, Sparxxx released “Pain Management,” which charted on the U.S. country music charts. Sparxxx signed to Yelawolf’s Slumerican Records in March 2016, releasing “The Bubba Mathis EP.” He continued releasing music, including “Rapper from the Country” in 2018 and the EP “Crickets” with Hosier in 2020. His seventh album, “King of Crap,” was released in December 2020, featuring the single “Bird Dawg.”
